Study Help

Phys Sci

This is a site with interactive simulations that demonstrate different concepts in chemistry and physics. Each simulation allows you to modify the conditions of the idea being examined to further your understanding of what affects them.

Concept Simulations

Class notes will be posted here.  Specific information about the subjects can be found under the Chemistry and Physics tabs.

Notes

Chemistry

This is a site that allows students to take quizzes and tests on their knowledge of the chapters. It is not the exact book that we are using but it covers most of the same material in mostly the same order. There is also a math handbook to help students with the math they will need in chemistry.

Glencoe Chemistry Tests

This is a site I found that gives clear information on the various topics of chemistry that we will and are covering.  There are many examples given and some problems for you to work on with the answers provided.  A very good study site for chemistry.

Chemistry Info

This is a website with some interesting videos about chemistry.  Some of the videos are demonstration filled lectures about a specific topic and others are shorter videos about fun topics.

Royal Institute of Great Britain Channel

Notes for class will be posted here.

Physics

This is the companion site for the text.  There are concept simulations for you to play with and interactive solutions to marked problems in the book. There are also example problems which are gone over in detail for many sections of the text.

Cutnell & Johnson Companion site

This is a website which deals with all the fields of physics.  It is designed like a web so that if you click on one area it will show the topics that field deals with.  If you click on a topic it will take you to a description of it with pictures, equations, and examples.  It also has links to a similar site for math, chemistry, biology, and geophysics.

Hyperphysics

This is a youtube playlist of the lectures from a very good physics course from the University of California: Berkley called Physics for Future Presidents. The lectures focus on conceptual understanding of topics in physics with application to current events.

Physics for Future Presidents

It is the attitude of mind developed in the student as he proceeds with his studies, and not primarily the information he acquires, which determine the character and extent of his education.
