Apply for Free or Reduced-Price Meals and get additional help to buy groceries!
The start of the 2022-2023 school year is coming fast! A change this year at Killdeer Public School is that meals will NOT be free this year. The last 2 years’ meals were free due to Federal Covid Relief Funds. That benefit has now ended, and meals will be charged this coming school year.
The price per meal will be as follows:
Grades K-6: Breakfast $2.10/meal Lunch $3.05/meal
Grades 7-12: Breakfast $2.10/meal Lunch $3.15/meal
We are asking each family to please fill out the free/reduced application and return it to the school office or email it to killdeer.school@k12.nd.us before August 19, 2022. A printable version is available on our KPS website under the Parents Tab or for ease it may be completed online at https://apply4schoolmeals.dpi.nd.gov
If you fill out the application before August 19th and if you qualify for free or reduced-price meals, your child will also receive the Summer P-EBT card. This card will be sent to your family in late August or early October and it’s a $391 value for groceries. This is a federal benefit coming from the State of North Dakota and is not affiliated with the school district.

Other benefits to filling out the application are:
· School Meals: Most commonly associated with the free/reduced application is the opportunity to receive free or discounted school meals for children. Eligibility is based on family size and income.
· School Funding: The amount of funding the district receives is dependent on our rate of free/reduced students, as is our eligibility for additional grant funding. Ensuring our free/reduced rate is an accurate representation of our district is vital in providing a valuable education.
