We loved our visit from Amberley Snyder today at the High School. She shared a beautiful message and touched our hearts. We even sent her home with some Killdeer gear. She boarded the plane back home in her Killdeer Cowboy sweatshirt. 🧡

The AAA Killdeer Safety Patrol members of the week are Iris Pasere and Piper Lawrence. It is extremely cold outside, and our patrollers are working hard to ensure everyone is dressed for the weather. Thank you for keeping our students safe on the playground.

Please join us on January 6th from 2-3 pm in the High School gymnasium as we welcome Amberley Snyder to Killdeer School.
Amberley was born in California as the second to six children. Amberley fell in love with horses at a young age and began barrel racing when her family moved to Utah at her age of 7. She competed in junior rodeos and up into high school, winning multiple titles and awards. Her senior year she finished as the National Little Britches World All Around Cowgirl.
In January of 2010, Amberley was involved in a rollover truck accident, leaving her paralyzed from the waist down. Eighteen months after that day, with a seatbelt on her saddle, she returned to competing in rodeo. She now competes in the Women's Professional Rodeo Association in the barrel racing. Amberley made the Wilderness Circuit Finals in 2021 and 2022.
In 2018, Netflix released a movie based on her life titled Walk Ride Rodeo where Amberley was able to be her own stunt double for the film. As a keynote speaker, professional barrel racer, author and actor, Amberley shares her story of triumph over tragedy hoping she can motivate others to believe in themselves and get back on the horse.

December 9th!

The AAA Killdeer Safety Patrol had a wonderful time with the Shop with A Cop program this week. Students did a fantastic job shopping for their peers for Christmas. A big thank you to the Dunn County Sheriff's Office, Ms. Laura, and Ms. Aubree. A big shout out to Tish from Walmart for your hospitality, generosity, and help with the patrollers while they shopped. There is a special angel in the Killdeer community, Mr. Dennis Hartman. His donation to the program enabled the patrollers to purchase gifts for many children this year. We are truly blessed to live in such a caring and wonderful community. ♥️
