Killdeer Elementary held their Cowboy Pride Assembly. A special safety patrol member was recognized, Adria Fenstermaker. Courage was our character focus this month so we honored those that demonstrated courage and handed out some Reflex math certificates. Mr Binstock’s class had the best attendance and archery also received some recognition for making it to nationals. Congratulations to Mrs Pennington who won the teacher bracket in March Music Madness. The students loved the big reveal of the inflatable mystery readers to wrap up literacy month. It was a big day filled with literacy activities and fun.

Our 8th grade students attended Scrubs camp today at the Coal Country Community Health Center in Beulah and Sakakawea Medical Center in Hazen.  Scrubs Camp is a day camp sponsored by UND with a goal to build awareness, spark interest, and increase understanding of the wide variety of health careers available in rural ND through creative, hands-on activities.

Mrs. Wilz’s class celebrated the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day alongside Dr. Seuss Month with green eggs and ham while listening to some good stories. 🍀📚

SRO Swigart visited with 5th and 6th grade classes this week about the dangers and laws regarding online bullying. North Dakota law (NDCC 15.1-19-17) defines bullying, including cyberbullying, as severe, pervasive, or objectively offensive conduct that disrupts a student's education or school operations, even if it occurs off-campus via electronic devices. Criminal penalties apply, often as Class A or B misdemeanors for electronic harassment, including threats and stalking.
Parents, please talk to your kids about online bullying and if they or someone they know is being bullied online, encourage them to talk to a trusted adult.
