Killdeer Public School Yearbook

The Book Fair will be held in the Elementary Library Oct 2-9.

The AAA Killdeer Safety Patrol Members of the week are Brynlee Buckman and Ashton Housel. Both of these star patrollers are working hard to keep our students safe on the playground. They also are wonderful role models to their younger peers. Keep up the great work.

A special thank you to our amazing custodial crew at KPS. 🧡 We appreciate all of your hard work in our district.

The Elementary held their first Pride Assembly of the year with a focus on Empathy. Congrats to all of the students recognized for demonstrating empathy during the month of September. Some of our senior football players and the cheer team were there to help us celebrate. The attendance award for the month went to Mrs. Elkins' 6th grade class. Brycen Schmidt was recognized as a valued Safety Patrol member and we recognized some amazing math fact accomplishments so far this year.

As part of our Capturing Kids' Hearts program for September, student and staff are encouraged build relationships. To implement this, KHS held a Rock, Paper, Scissors competition. Each student was given a beaded necklace and encouraged to challenge other student and staff throughout the day. If you lost the Rock, Paper, Scissors competition, you then cheered others on that still remained in the game. The 2024 Fall Rock, Paper, Scissors Champion is Azalyn Barrett!

The junior American History classes just finished up a unit on pre-Colombian North American indigenous civilizations. To close out our unit, Jessica Howling Wolf joined our class to share a more in-depth exploration of the tribal nations residing on the Great Plains. We greatly appreciate her for taking the time to speak with us, fostering a greater awareness of the indigenous history of our area history and the people who called these lands home for thousands of years.

Gracie Buehner and Brycen Schmidt are the AAA Killdeer Safety Patrol members for the week. They both show the positive qualities needed to be on safety patrol. Thank you for keeping our students safe on the playground each day. We are off to a great start with the safety patrol this year.
