Dear Little Cowboy Parents, Grandparents, & Family
We would like to invite you to the Little League Showcase night on Tuesday 5/21 starting at 4:00. Our goal is to give your child the experience of what it is like to be in a Varsity Basketball Game for the Killdeer Cowboys. This is an opportunity for you to cheer your child on, take pictures, and laugh as their will be lots of that in the lower levels. There will be a National Anthem, Pre-Game Music, Starting Line-Ups (all athletes will be announced), followed by the Showcase Game. Please PACK the gym.
This has been a great experience for us the past few weeks and we would like to end the year having your child filled full of enthusiasm going into the summer and our upcoming Little Cowboy Camp the following week May 28, 29, & 30.

It is paraprofessional day at the Killdeer Elementary School. We are blessed to have the best group of individuals to work with. Each and every para contributes to the success of our students. Killdeer is very fortunate to have this incredible team!
Academic Awards Ceremony and 6th Grade Graduation will be held tomorrow (5/15/24) at the Killdeer High School. Program will start at 2:00pm, doors open at 1:45pm.

On Monday, May 20th Killdeer Public School will be hosting the 9-12 athletics banquet. This banquet will be held at the Elementary Gym.
The School will provide shredded beef sandwiches as the main dish.
We are asking Seniors and Juniors- Bring a desert or fruit salad
We are asking Sophomores and Freshman- Green Salad, Vegetables, or Macaroni Salad.
Dinner will be served from 6-6:30
Program will begin promptly at 6:30 PM

Mrs. Dobitz's 2nd grade students read poems to Mrs. Anderson's Kindergarten class today.
The KPS Band and Choir competed at Elitch Gardens in Denver this weekend. The results are as follows:
90-100 was Gold
80-89 was Silver
70-79 was Bronze
Band received an 88 (Silver)
Choir received an 87 (Silver)
The students enjoyed themselves at the competition and had a blast at a Colorado Rockies game. Great job everyone!

Mrs Wilz's 2nd graders enjoyed a lesson and presentation from Nashotay and his parents today. They learned about Pow Wows and some of the different categories of dances. Nashotay preformed his Men’s Fancy Dance for his classmates. Such a cool learning experience!

Mr. Griffiths and the 6th graders helped Mrs. Simmons’s class paint a beautiful picture for Mother’s Day. They had so much fun!

The AAA Killdeer Safety Patrol had their end of the year party to celebrate all of the hard work this school year. Everyone had a great time with lots of good treats. Mr. Simmons stopped by to congratulate them on a job well done. Way to go safety patrol.
Dr West's Physics class put up a scale model of the solar system along the road into town. They made the Sun 5 inches in diameter and based the distances to every planet off of that. They even figured out how far it is to the nearest star, but they won't be going to Miami to put that post up. So, as you are heading home tonight enjoy the view on the north side of the road and marvel at how spread out our solar system is. If you walk to each planet and look at the Sun it will appear the same size as if you were standing on that planet.

Four members of the Killdeer FFA Chapter competed at the ND FFA State Horse Evaluation Contest in Fargo at the NDSU Equine Center.
The team earned a Bronze award.
