Senior, Tate Norby, welcomed Magician, Brence Platner, to Killdeer today. Brence has a goal to do a magic show in all 50 states and Killdeer was his ND stop. The students at the elementary and the high school participated in performances of entertaining magic while also hearing about the importance of going after your dreams and achieving the impossible.
Fossil pictures from 1st grade!
First grade started last week by making their own fossils and ended the week by taking a trip to the Coteau Freedom Cole mine to celebrate their learning about the history of the earth!
Preschool is learning about architecture and architects. The preschoolers applied what they discovered about building features to their own building plans and cardboard constructions. They worked together as they put their buildings together to create a class city.

March is Music in Our Schools Month, which means we are once again celebrating with March Music Madness! The theme this year is 'Battle of the Decades'. The teachers have filled out their brackets, and the students will spend the month voting on their favorite songs. The winning song and bracket will be announced at the end of the month!
The AAA Killdeer Safety Patrol members for the month of February did a fantastic job keeping our students safe on the playground and in the hallways. Great job to the safety patrol.

The elementary held their Cowboy Pride Assembly to recognize students who demonstrated kindness throughout the month of February. The attendance award went to Mrs. Gartner's 3rd grade and students were awarded for their Reflex (math fact fluency) accomplishments. Great job Cowboys!
The High School held an assembly yesterday to recognize students and teachers of the month February. The academic student of the month was Zoe Garness. Two students received the Cowboy award this month: Sophia Sadowsky and Tenley Walker. The Capturing Kids' Hearts award went to Sawyer Pennington for her demonstration of kindness. The teachers of the month were Mr. Johnson and Mr. Zastoupil. Other milestones and achievements: Freshman, Jack Bohmbach, placed 3rd at the state wrestling tournament. · Senior, Elijah Ramos, reached a milestone of 100 career varsity wins in wrestling and placed 8th at the state wrestling tournament. · Senior, William Roundy, placed 3rd at the state wrestling tournament. · Sophomore, Dane Jepson, placed 7th at the state wrestling tournament. · Senior, Adali Simmons, broke the school’s single season Technical Fall school record and placed 7th at the state wrestling tournament. · 8th graders, Ysabella Love and Hannah Schetler will be participating in the state spelling bee competition. · Junior, Mickellyn Walker, was nominated to the Class A All Region 4 Team for basketball.
