
First grade had a busy week. They finished their unit on astronomy and celebrated their learning by creating their own planets and making the phases of the moon with Oreos. They ended their week with swimming and their Valentine’s Day party!

The elementary held their Cowboy Pride Assembly yesterday. Students were recognized for showing respect during the month of January. Mrs. Sayler's 3rd grade received the best attendance award and safety patrol had some special individuals to recognize. Students were also acknowledged for their math fact fluency achievements. Great job Cowboys!

High School assembly photos continued...






The High School held their student and teacher of the month assembly yesterday and acknowledged many individuals for their achievements in December and January.
Respect was the theme for Capturing Kids' Hearts. Holden Hausauer and Owen Schleppenbach were the recipients of that award. The Cowboy award went to Trevyn Benz and Clover Norby for their patience and willingness to help others in need. Hailey Klym and Avrie Hall received academic recognition for their efforts in the classroom.
Teachers of the month were Mr Elkins and Mrs. Harris
The captains for boys basketball, girls basketball, boys wrestling and girls wrestling spoke about their seasons. We also acknowledged the following milestones and achievements:
Junior, Baileigh Ventrello, was selected as the RACTC Heavy Equipment Operator student of the month.
Freshman, Jack Bohmbach, reached a milestone of 100 career varsity wins in wrestling
Junior, Mickellyn Walker, reached a milestone of 1,000 career points scored in varsity girls basketball.
Senior, Owen Schleppenbach, reached a milestone of 1,000 career points scored in varsity boys basketball.
Senior, Cooper Bang, was selected as the Dickinson Press 2024 Male Athlete of the Year.

The AAA Killdeer Safety Patrol Members of the week are Maddie Olson, Rowyn Pennington, and Ashton Housel. This seasoned group of patrollers have what it takes to be peer mentors. They show the compassion needed to be on the safety patrol. Keep up the great work!


Gateway to Science will be coming to KHS, Wedn. Feb 5th. This event is geared towards 7-12th grade students and will be held during P/T Conferences. Hope to see you there!


Killdeer LEGO Robotics Teams take1st and 2nd Place in Robot Performance at Williston Regional. Killdeer Cowbots received the Gracious Professionalism (sportsmanship) shoutout. Congratulations Teams!

The Booster Club and Killdeer Activities honored Warren Smith at the wrestling dual on Friday night. He is a local veteran honored at our Salute to Service night. Thank you for your service!




Congratulations to the AAA Killdeer Safety Patrol Advisors till 2026. This group of patrollers have shown excellent leadership skills, and the compassion needed to make a difference with their younger peers. We are extremely proud of what a great job they are doing.


To end their unit on early American civilizations, first grade made floating gardens just like the Aztec did in order to grow crops. The kids liked this activity and said it was fun but messy!





The AAA Killdeer Safety Patrol Members of the week are Jaden Schedlock, Ryan Martin, and Cree Sorensen. The patrollers are braving the cold to ensure that their peers are safe and dressed for the cold weather. They use positive words of encouragement while patrolling with their younger peers. You are all doing a great job!
